Job Description

The Customer Outreach & Sales Assistant will assist the Administrative Receptionist with fulfilling sale orders for annual membership passes and assist in the reservation system with enquires for various reservation activities. Fulfillment of sale orders will involve preparing membership mailing packages, programming swipe cards and updating membership details in a CAMIS management system.

 

This position will also help with general enquiries and provide requested information, and operate the main switchboard. Assist with additional projects by conducting clerical tasks for other departments as needed.

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Serve as the single point of contact for pass holders responses and ensure replies are timely, professional and complete.
  2. Program swipe cards.
  3. Fulfill online orders for membership passes using the CAMIS management system.
  4. Maintain databases of membership passes and for the reservation system.
  5. Serve as the single point of contact for the reservation system and ensure replies and timely, professional and complete.
  6. Assist other departments with administrative tasks, as needed, and if time permits.

 

Qualifications:

  1. Enrolled in or graduated from a University or College program with a focus in business, marketing, communications, office administration, or public relations.
  1. Demonstrated customer service ethic and ability to be an enthusiastic, contributing team player.
  2. Previous customer service/outreach experience.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. Strong computer (MS Office) skills.
  5. Good organizational and filing skills.
  6. Ability to work well independently.

Please note that this summer position is in part to be funded by the Canada Summer Jobs program (CSJ). To be eligible, students must: be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment; be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations

Working Conditions:

The Customer Outreach & Sales Assistant will be based at the Hamilton Conservation Authority’s main office at 838 Mineral Springs Road, Ancaster, Ontario.

 

Working hours will be 9:00a.m. – 4:30p.m., totalling 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, inclusive.

 

Work Term and Rate of Pay:

This is a casual position with a starting date of April 19 and ending November 30, 2021. The rate of pay is $14.25 per hour.

 

Please note; the hiring of this position will be subject to funding approval through the Canada Summer Jobs Program

 

Benefits:

As per the Employment Standards Act, you will be paid for Statutory Holidays. Contract employees are not eligible for the benefits package offered to full-time – full year employees.

 

Vacation Entitlement:

Vacation Pay will be paid out on each pay as per the Employment Standards Act
