New Services Available @ The Women’s Centre
A financial counsellor from Neighbor 2 Neighbor will be on site. Drop in for general inquires or to see if you qualify for the Ontario Electricity Support Program- a program that may reduce your electricity bill if you are a customer of an electricity utility and are in a lower-income home (Ontario Energy Board). Please bring ID and proof of income for household.
When: Every last Thursday of the month, 10 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Starts August 24th. On a drop-in basis
Ontario Works Family Support Worker
The Ontario Works Family Support Program helps parents in receipt of Ontario Works explore child and spousal support options that may be available to them. Improving women’s financial security helps alleviate some of the family pressures and improves economic health. A Family Support Worker will be available at the Women’s Centre and can assist women with:
- information about the child support/spousal support process
- negotiating out-of-court support agreements
- completing court applications
- reviewing the adequacy of existing private agreements and court orders
- searching for support payers
When: Every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month, 2 p.m.-4 p.m. Starts August 17th. By appointment only.

Women Getting Work
A program which provides system navigation, information, education, support and referrals to assist women in developing and expressing their full potential.
Services are free and confidential.
